I bought a magazine over the weekend and read a cool article about a young couple who purchased a older home a few years back and embarked on an adventure to remodel and update it while posting their journey on their blog. It was a great article and an even better blog. There are tons of great photos, design ideas and tips, and there is cool stuff available for purchase as well. Check it out at www.thisyounghouse.com. It might have even inspired me to get back on track decorating our own home!
Morning Everyone! Well, I’ve been on Etsy for a little while now selling a different type of item than my usual custom stationery (although I’m starting to get more and requests for that) so I figured I’d post a shameless plug about my Etsy store this morning! If you head over there and peruse my store you’ll find a wide assortment of unusual wedding and shower labels, return address labels (circular I might add), shipping labels, and theme inspired family trees. I’ve been having a great time chatting with people all over the country and even Switzerland! There are also plenty of wildy talented folks who sell their hand crafted items on Etsy. It’s a wonderful resource for an unusual, personal, and hand made gift item.
Thanks!
Kate
We are happy to announce that Katlem Design & Invitations is now listed in the library portion of the Elizabeth Anne Designs website! Ami and Rebekah were nice enough to add us in the stationery category of the library. This library contains a ton of qualified vendors to make it easier for couples who are planning their wedding. There is also a blog section of the website which contains lots of other useful and interesting information!

Thanks Ami & Rebekah!!
I’d like to switch gears a little bit today and share with you a place you MUST stop at if you are ever driving through Cumberland, RI. This was my favorite ice cream stand growing up and my husband and I stopped in there last week. Wouldn’t you know it they still have the wooden cow sign out front welcoming guests in but now there is also a baby cow to add to the fun and you just can’t help but smile. Pretty much everything is as I remember (the last time I was there was probably 4 years ago now and before that I can’t remember) and the ice cream was as good as ever!! A note on the serving sizes….they seem to have become even larger over the years! I ordered a medium and could only eat half of it!! My favorite flavor is chocolate chip although they have many more exotic flavors to choose from. I ordered my old standby and sure enough they still have full size chocolate chips….what a delight! Just sitting there, enjoying an ice cream brought back alot of happy memories of going there with my family. Thanks ICE CREAM MACHINE!

Well, for those of you who don’t know, the studio is now open again as I have returned from a wonderful trip abroad. We went to Italy and Greece for a fabulous two week trip. Stay tuned for more photos. Below is one of me and my husband Jay visiting Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius in the background. Never thought I’d ever see this place in person! Many of the buildings and roads are intact from 79 A.D. Pretty amazing!

Starting September 16th (tomorrow!!) the studio will be closed for a couple weeks while I’m away. I have a feeling that my access to email will be very limited but I will do my best to return your emails promptly upon my rertun…along with posting some beautiful pictures from Italy and Greece!
Well, from time to time I do get asked to do projects outside of the wedding world. It is fun to keep those other design skills sharp while keeping up with new clients and old!
First up is a Physical Therapy company located in Cranston, RI. An affiliate of Lepre Physical Therapy. I happen to know one of the new owners and I must say she knows her stuff! The new owners were looking to establish their own identity while still maintaining a connection to the former owner.
Next up is a newly established real estate firm in North Carolina. Howard was looking for a logo that had some punch and stood out while still looking professional. Thanks to the folks for this referral!
Last but certainly not least is a poster and postcard design for an old work friend who is in a new band. Check em out if you’re in the RI area. www.operationivytribute.com
Well, there you have it….a look at some non-wedding work I’ve done recently. Check these out on the Katlem site if you wish.
Well, we’ve all heard them. Comments you just don’t want to respond to but later wish you had. This fun little article addresses them in an oh-so classy fashion….don’t we all wish we were so nice!
