I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of a local calligraphy studio the other day and I wanted to make mention of her business! She does fabulous work and if any of my clients (or even if you’re not one of my clients) are in need of calligraphy for your wedding or special event we can work in conjunction to make sure the calligraphy and invitation design go hand in hand. She can match styles, colors, mix custom inks, you name it!  For those of you who would like to have part of your wedding stationery done truly by hand, Sharon’s service is of the highest quality. She also creates beautiful botanical illustrations which could be an elegant addition to your wedding stationery.

Above is an example of some place cards Sharon has done. What makes these unique place cards so fun is that guests find out which table they are sitting out by picking their shell out of the sand to reveal the table number!

Above is an example of Sharon’s envelope calligraphy. She can match any font style you wish.

A neat feature on the Katlem Design & Invitations website that may be overlooked and hence my reasoning for this post is the “Show me the photo shoot” link on some of the invitation pages. They may also be on place card, table card, program and other pages but the lion’s share of them are on the invitation pages.  Unfortunately we don’t have photographs for all of our designs (sigh….) but we’re getting there.  You can see real life photographs of our invitations in all their stunning glory. Yay! Props to those who took the photographs can also be found with the photographs. Check out the screen shot below to see where to find the link. It’s a snazzy feature if I do say so myself.

I’d like to switch gears a little bit today and share with you a place you MUST stop at if you are ever driving through Cumberland, RI. This was my favorite ice cream stand growing up and my husband and I stopped in there last week. Wouldn’t you know it they still have the wooden cow sign out front welcoming guests in but now there is also a baby cow to add to the fun and you just can’t help but smile. Pretty much everything is as I remember (the last time I was there was probably 4 years ago now and before that I can’t remember) and the ice cream was as good as ever!! A  note on the serving sizes….they seem to have become even larger over the years! I ordered a medium and could only eat half of it!! My favorite flavor is chocolate chip although they have many more exotic flavors to choose from. I ordered my old standby and sure enough they still have full size chocolate chips….what a delight! Just sitting there, enjoying an ice cream brought back alot of happy memories of going there with my family. Thanks ICE CREAM MACHINE!

Well, for those of you who don’t know, the studio is now open again as I have returned from a wonderful trip abroad. We went to Italy and Greece for a fabulous two week trip. Stay tuned for more photos. Below is one of me and my husband Jay visiting Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius in the background. Never thought I’d ever see this place in person! Many of the buildings and roads are intact from 79 A.D. Pretty amazing!
